The badge of the order of the Patriotic war I degree is made of gold (583) and silver. Gold content in the order of the first degree – 8,329±0,379 g, silver-16,754±0,977 g. The total weight of the order of the first degree is 32.34±1.65 g. Established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on may 20, 1942. Further description of the order were some changes made by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet on 19 June 1943, and the Statute of the order by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 16 December 1947.
