This lot serves as a fascinating mid-century time capsule, uniquely pairing an original, independent diaspora protest manifesto flyer directly alongside the contemporary local news coverage that explicitly validates it by name, as well as an official state-issued pavilion counter-propaganda booklet. ### THE 3-PIECE HISTORICAL INVENTORY INCLUDES: 1. THE COMPANION PROTEST PAMPHLET: Original August 22, 1967 “Ukrainian National Day at Expo / La Journée Nationale Ukrainienne” multi-page program flyer. Published independently by the Ukrainian diaspora, the front features Ossip Zadkine’s bronze memorial artwork, The Prisoners. The reverse contains a printed historical manifesto detailing diaspora grievances regarding religious institutions, regional library conditions, and calls for free elections. THE VERIFYING NEWSPAPER PROVENANCE: Complete, original intact August 23, 1967 page from The Montreal Star newspaper covering the immediate events of Ukraine Day at Expo. ” Crucially, the headline article (“Pamphlets ask free Ukraine”) explicitly references and authenticates this exact item, stating: “The pamphlet, headed’Ukrainian National Day at Expo,’ was distributed… More than 25,000 pamphlets were given out. This provides direct, contemporary verification for the physical flyer. THE PAVILION PROPAGANDA BOOKLET: Original, official Soviet-issued softcover booklet titled “Religion in the USSR” by Alexei Puzin. Distributed directly within the pavilion grounds, this trilingual booklet outlines the official state narrative regarding religious practices inside the Soviet Union-serving as the exact institutional counterpoint to the diaspora protest flyer. ### CONDITION REPORT: All items are genuine, original 1967 vintage ephemera. The newspaper page shows expected uniform age-toning and gentle storage folds from being stored flat for decades, but remains remarkably crisp, clean, and completely legible. Please examine the high-resolution listing photos to verify the physical condition details, text clarity, and publishing marks.

CCCP Soviet Union Communist Cold War Era Enamel Pin Lot 60’s 70’s Expo Olympics. 15 metal enamel pinback lot, note the missing back pin bar on the blue and red pin showing a castle. I think the Lenin 1870 to 1970 is silver (not 925 but in the 800’s, I’ve seen it described that way but I can’t read the markings on the back). — See photos for condition details. — I don’t have a way to arrange for a local pick-up of this item, I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
