USSR Soviet Union Foreign Nationals Specialists Number License Plate 1981 Series. This is a genuine USSR (Soviet Union) number license plate, from the 1981 series, featuring the “H” prefix. Plates with this prefix were specifically issued to foreign specialists, foreign nationals, and hire vehicles used by foreigners within the Soviet Union. These vehicles were typically associated with embassies, international organisations, state-approved foreign experts, and official hire services, and were never issued to standard private Soviet vehicles. As a result, “H” prefix plates were produced in far smaller numbers and are considerably harder to find than regular USSR civilian plates. The plate is in overall good condition for its age but is used, so shows some minor scratches, marks, paint wear, and age-related patina. A large, very rare and beautiful, old, authentic (Soviet era USSR, KGB USSR) memorial plaque that was installed on the state border of the USSR. The plate is 100% original and has an engraved stamp on the reverse side in the shape of the number “6” and a sign shaped like an hourglass. Cast metal coat of arms of the USSR with 16 republic stripes (Coat of Arms of the Soviet Union) This plaque was taken from the USSR border crossing after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Dimensions 8 3/4 x 8 inches (22 x 20 cm). Weight 2 lb (0.93 kg). Made in the USSR immediately after World War II from nickel-plated brass. Good condition, some minor scratches, needs cleaning, see photos for details. A very beautiful and extremely rare item. The serious collector knows that for a short period of time from 1946 to 1956, the Soviet Union consisted of 16 republics (including the Karelo-Finnish SSR) (before 1946 there were 11 republics, after 1956 there were 15 republics).

KGB, – Felix Dzerzhinsky, who was an ally and like-minded person of Vladimir Lenin. The portrait was made by a Soviet master in the 70s. Is made in mosaic, from wood veneer of various wood species and covered with a layer of protective varnish. Such plates, as a rule, are installed in the premises of the KGB or other special services of the USSR. Large size – 50,5? 74,5 centimeters, board thickness – 1 centimeters, weight over 3,5 kg.
