Reproduction pair of Marshal of the Soviet Union shoulder boards, 1943 pattern, for greatcoat / parade uniform. Gold brocade with red edging, embroidered USSR state emblem with red star, and one large silver marshal star at the bottom. Each board is made on a red cloth backing and comes with a top gilt Soviet button and tie cord for attaching to the uniform shoulder loops – as seen on late/postwar marshal uniforms. Excellent for display, collection, reenactment or to complete a Soviet marshal uniform. Replica / non-period / not a government issue. Pattern: M43 marshal boards (Feb 1943), detachable type. Rank: Marshal of the Soviet Union (highest Soviet rank). Front: gold brocade, red piping, embroidered USSR emblem. Star: large silver 5-point marshal star at lower end. USSR Soviet Union’P’ Prefix Export Vehicle Number License Plate 1981 Series. This is a genuine USSR (Soviet Union) number license plate, from the 1981 series, featuring the “P” prefix. Plates with this prefix were issued to vehicles that were permanently leaving the USSR, typically for export, repatriation, or official departure abroad. These plates were used for a short, transitional period only, often applied shortly before the vehicle exited the country. Because of this limited-use purpose, “P” prefix plates were produced in relatively small numbers and are much harder to find than standard civilian USSR plates. The plate is in overall good condition for its age but is used, so may show some minor scratches, marks, paint wear, or age-related patina. A Guide to the Volga. 636 pages + 40 pp. Extensive advertising section at rear. Well illustrated throughout with b&w photos and a profusion of approx. 25 folding (mostly color) lithographed maps, including fine large thematic maps relating to industry and agriculture (several single page maps are not counted in these). There is also a large folding color ethnographic map of the Volga region by the Russian Academy of Sciences. Numerous regional route maps as well as several detailed city plans Perm, Kazan, Capatova, Uva, Astrakhan, etc. Publisher’s 1/4 cloth binding, pictorial paper covered boards. Book is not new or in “new” condition. Binding well and heavily age worn from browsing and use, text block is shaken and loosened with some cracks within to the text block, several maps detached, one with writing on back, one with loss in bottom blank margin, book remains overall attractive as an object. Paper is gently toned, still clean, tight, sound internally. Still attractive on the shelf. The rare book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive. Please review photos for more detail showing how this book survives. The asking price reflects the condition based on our examination and 35+ years full time exposure to antiquarian books, maps and printed ephemera of all types and genres. Flaws seen and/ or described have been taken into account. 7″ H x 5 1/2″ W.
