Type: Soviet Award Flag/Pennant. Country of Origin: USSR (Soviet Union). Material: Red velvet, gold fringe. Theme: Vladimir Lenin, 50th Anniversary of the October Revolution. Inscription: “Winner of Socialist Competitions”. For sale is a rare, authentic Soviet velvet flag, made in 1967 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Such flags were typically awarded as a prestigious award to factories, work collectives, or individuals who distinguished themselves in “socialist competitions” in the USSR. Front: Classic profile portrait of Vladimir Lenin, executed in silver-gold metallic font. Below the portrait is the text: To the winner of the socialist competition in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. The reverse side features the State Emblem of the Soviet Union (hammer and sickle) with the commemorative dates of 1917 and 1967 clearly marked. Material: The banner is made of high-quality maroon/red velvet and decorated with gold fringe along the edges. Vintage condition with signs of aging that add to its historical significance. Please refer to the photographs for a detailed examination of the fabric texture and print quality. The printed image shows minor signs of wear consistent with the age of the item. An ideal addition for collectors of Soviet memorabilia, Cold War history, or vintage textile art. 1967 was an important anniversary year in the USSR, so items issued for this anniversary are highly collectible. The banner will be carefully packaged to ensure it arrives in the condition shown in the photographs. Don’t miss your chance to own an authentic piece of Soviet history!
