These coats were issued to soldiers & officers for winter use. Soldiers & officers to be outside while on duty for days without even getting. Close to feeling cold. Because these coats are so large – USSR armymen used to cover up inside. Periods of service in remote locations away from army barracks. These coats kept officers warm down to about -50C.
