I bought this USSR military hat in East Germany prior to the fall of the Soviet Union , so I know it is genuine not a copy and manufactured in 1983 (see photo). This was after Brezhnev died in 1982 and Yuri Andropov took over as General Secretariat of the Communist party, who lasted only one year before he died. The size shows 56, but it fits me and I wear 7 1/8. There is no moth damage. It has been safely stored for 30 years. The insignia and buttons are all original. The brass buckle is also original and shows some corrosion on the back side. I just don’t have the room or interest to keep them. See other items in my lisitings.
