Historical context: poster dedicated to friendship between Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union. We can see typical period symbols of communist propaganda. There is worker at the factory, symbol of progress in flying rocket – as we can see on typical space race propaganda posters and also reference to year 1922 – it was year when USSR was formed. Sverdlovsk region is a region and federal subject of the Russian Federation. It is located in the Ural Federal District. The capital of the region is Yekaterinburg. In 1924, after the Russian SFSR founded the Soviet Union, the city was renamed Sverdlovsk after the Bolshevik leader Yakov Sverdlov. During the Soviet era, Sverdlovsk was turned into an industrial and administrative powerhouse.
