[SOVIET UNION/RUSSIA PROPAGANDA POSTERS; REPRODUCTIONS PORTFOLIO] SOVIET RUSSIA PROPAGANDA POSTERS 20 in portfolio Moscow 1967, UNFORGETTABLE DAYS OF HISTORY [loose English translation from title in Cyrillic on portfolio front] Sovetskii Khudozhnik [Soviet Artist], Moscow, 1967, A portfolio of 20 copies of Soviet Union/Russia/Communist propaganda posters titled rough translation from Russian “Unforgettable/Memorable Days of History, most were published by various Soviet Union artists in 1919 and 1920, the early years of the Russian Communist Revolution, on the back of each is the name and dates of the artist, the title, and the year, posters are numbered 1 to 20 except for a number 14 but duplicate of number 16 for 20 posters in all, posters are in color except for a couple presumably in black-and-white in original, on 13-1/2″ high x 10-1/2″ wide sheets of heavy paper with margins of varying width, some posters have borders and some do not, in the line below the publisher line of Sovetskii Khudozhnik is a number “20 presumably for the number of posters thus making the set complete, all in a portfolio with an illustrated front cover, all text is in Russian/Cyrillic; PUBLISHER NOTE: the publisher of this portfolio, Sovetskii Khudozhnik [Soviet Artist], was the publishing house of the Artists Union of the USSR founded in 1946 by the organizational committee of the Union of Soviet Artists; in 1969 the original publisher was reorganized keeping the same name; ITEM NOTE: the portfolio is apparently rare with none found recorded at WorldCat/OCLC or found for sale on the market, and thus is of interest for its collection of Soviet propaganda poster reproductions and also as an example of Soviet printing during the Leonid Brezhnev period of Soviet leadership, 1964-82 /// CONDITION: all posters in very good-plus or better condition/8.0 or better (on scale of 10) with faint age-toning at the edges of some, the portfolio/folder has some light wear at the edges, overall a well-preserved set of Soviet Union propaganda poster reproductions with minimal wear.
